YOUTH DIRECTOR
16-24 hours per week (weekends & evenings required)
Responsible to: Adam Clewer
To bring vision, leadership, enthusiasm, and passion to youth ministry that encourages discipleship and advancement of the Christian faith through fun and age-appropriate experiences.
Create individual and gathered environments that prioritize discipleship, valuing and encouraging an individual’s spiritual, physical, and emotional well-being, and supporting a foundation of faith that remains beyond high school.

The church is about people. While skills and credentials are important, the four C’s of character, competency, commitment and culture are essentials.
A leader of leaders
Leadership is service; we require our leaders to be hands-dirty, boots-on-the ground doers. We also require our leaders to be able to inspire vision in others and oversee teams.
Responsibilities:

In line with this vision, the Youth Director will:
Create individual and gathered environments that foster age-appropriate experiences with God
for 11-14 age group (grades 5-8) on Sunday morning
for 15-18 age group (grades 9-12) on Sunday evening
Delivers Biblical teaching recognizing the Person, role, and gifts of the Holy Spirit
Communicates this teaching in a relevant and age-appropriate way
Includes elements that encourages healthy community and conversations about
life, relationships, and spiritual questions
Build and equip a vibrant, committed, and purposeful volunteer team
Provide pastoral care as and when needed
Organizes and leads youth trips/retreats/camps
Implement and support other youth activities at the direction of the Senior Leader
Explore and develop youth priorities, both within the church and the wider community
Partner with parents/family/community members by engaging in clear and regular communication
Ensure safeguarding legislation, principles and policies are implemented and followed by themselves and all members of the youth team for all youth activities.
Integrate and work well with other staff members as part of the staff team, contributing to a healthy staff culture.
Level of Supervision
The Youth Director(s) are accountable to the Senior Leader.
Training and development will be afforded this position as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Passion, and experience in working with young people
Good communication skills, both verbal and written
Display good organizational and administration skills
Biblical literacy – with an ability to communicate in a youth context
Ability to work well within a team environment
Ability to work independently and proactively with minimal supervision
Ability to work flexible hours
Strong organization and communication skills
Ability to successfully manage multiple projects
Ability to keep confidential information
Effective in conflict resolution
College degree preferred, but not essential
